This statue might just take you there.
Personal Note
I have become obsessed with ideas of adventure and innovation.
My curiosity has been imbued with an insatiable hunger; a hunger for progress and growth, and I want to share this. So far, I’ve been fortunate to have had no shortfall of ideas — touchwood* — but, deciding has not been easy. (*touches own thick forehead due to last name being Wood).
Let us start by positing a standard.
The Ultimate Standard of Value
As humans, we survive by complying with the laws of nature. This involves learning the rules of reality and then playing by them. Naturally, we use our faculties to understand, and then manipulate our surroundings. Only after securing the conditions for survival can we optimize for prosperity.
The ultimate standard of value, or, “the good”, is that which enables, sustains, and improves life. Our subject today: a hero in an inspiring, artistic form — serves as a reference point for this standard.
